The Real Terrorists?

Think abou the following statement carefully : "When 1000's of innocent people are murdered in London and America it is called terrorism and when 1000's of innocent people are murdered in Afghanistan and Iraq, it is called the war 'on' terrorism!". Be impartial and rational and give that statement a serious thought.

The difference is that with terrorists, the TARGET was the innocent people. There was no military objective. The closest thing was to make the American people scared.

In Iraq, etc, it is a military operation. Our targets are military in nature. While we are over there, we are building back up in our wake. We never target civilians on purpose.

That, I think, is the main difference. I would be more respectful of the terrorists' war on us, if they hit military targets, not business buildings or civilian train stations.

Pete has hit the nail on the head. American and its allies did not go to Afganistan and Iraq to kill civilians. Our target was a military one. There's a big difference between war and blatant murder.

Yes intent is important. But surely the actual physical results must be taken into account.

I wouldn't say that the soldiers out there fighting are terrorists, but they aren't fighting a just war either.

A just war? Terrorists ATTACK our nation, killing thousands of innocent people in one morning, throwing a major U.S. city into panic, and unsuccessfully trying to throw our economy and market into a tailspin... what else do you need to consider this a JUST war?
Maybe we should have just sent 2 B-1 bombers to do the job in less time than it took for the World Trade Center to fall. We would have gotten Bin Laden, Sadaam, and all the cave-dwelling cowards with a few well-aimed cruise missles. In my opinion, that would have been just, but I'm glad we did it the way we have. At least we'll have some strategic military bases in Iraq. Why pull out?
Whiney liberals. Who would you call if they had YOU hostage? Al Gore?
